It’s a product born into the backshop of chemistries and spicy grocers between the end of ‘800 and the beginning of ‘900 probably taking back an ancient habit of using spicy wine as a medicament against some light illnesses. The idea of treating a noble wine as Barolo to a herboristic treatment is to ascribe to a chemist from Monforte, Doc. Giuseppe Cappellano.

Barolo DOCG wine, sugar, alcohol, aromatic herbs and spices infusion. Barolo is added with several spices according to our secret recipe, and left in infusion. After bottling, the Barolo Chinato rests before releasing. Since we don’t make clarification, It could form sediment during its bottle life.

Tasting notes:

Garnet red with elegant orange reflections. Intense, complex and very persistent aroma, typically spicy and with notes of aromatic herbs. Particularly clear are the notes of bitter orange and coriander. The taste is full, pleasantly sweet with bitter long ending.

End of the meal, digestive, excellent when paired with dark chocolate.
